UK Travelers Obliged To Take COVID Tests In France

December 3, 2021 | xpath.global

Beginning Saturday, December 4th, all travelers from the UK are required to adhere to new COVID-19 entry protocols when visiting France. These measures are part of the French government’s response to the ongoing pandemic and the emergence of the Omicron variant.

Uniform Application of Restrictions

It’s important to note that these regulations are uniformly applicable to individuals originating from nations outside the European Union (EU), regardless of their vaccination status. This means that whether a person is fully vaccinated, partially vaccinated, or unvaccinated, they will be subject to the same entry requirements upon arrival in France.

France’s Response to Omicron Variant

To combat the Omicron variant, France tightens entry procedures. French government spokesperson Gabriel Attal revealed these additional measures during a recent announcement.  This, emphasizing the need to tighten entrance protocols to prevent the spread of the virus.

From this Saturday onwards, travelers from non-EU countries, including the UK, must provide evidence of vaccination and complete a sworn statement form to enter France. However, for individuals who are not fully vaccinated and are traveling from the Schengen zone. This, a negative COVID-19 test conducted within 24 hours prior to travel will suffice.

Extension of Travel Restrictions

Attal also extended travel restrictions between France and South Africa until December. These measures aim to manage international travel effectively amidst the evolving COVID-19 situation.

In summary, the new measures aim to enhance public health by reducing COVID-19 transmission through international travel. UK visitors should familiarize themselves with these updated entry protocols for a smooth experience.
